LeBron James’ production company SpringHill Entertainment is developing a new comedy series for NBC. The show is titled “Brotherly Love” and is based on the life of NBA player Ben Simmons. The show focuses on a sibling relationship in a multi-ethnic family as they pursue their dreams in Philadelphia.
The show will be produced by Kourtney Kang, who has worked on shows like “How I Met Your Mother” and “Fresh Off the Boat”. Ben Simmons and his brother will also be involved as consulting producers. While the order is currently just for a script, the high-profile talent involved makes it likely the show will get to the pilot stage.
This new project is part of SpringHill Entertainment’s growing portfolio. The company recently debuted the talk show “The Shop” on HBO, and next month Showtime will air a three-part documentary titled “Shut Up and Dribble” about the role athletes have in today’s social and political environment.
