Captivating Nail Inspirations Unveiled at New York Fashion Week Spring 2024

The Spring 2024 season of New York Fashion Week was as exciting as ever, thanks to star-studded front rows, creative runway collections and inspiring beauty looks — especially when it came to nails.

As usual, there were bold colors done beautifully, like glossy true reds at Proenza Schouler, ballet pinks at Ulla Johnson and ebony at Rachel Comey. There was also a pervasive maximalist approach to manicures, with many models donning press-ons and extensions for their turns on the runway. The Blonds, for example, took inspiration from cultural icons like Cher, David Bowie and Britney Spears to create blinged-out stiletto tips. Adeam relied on a little trompe-l’œil action and applied literal flares to ballerina-shaped acrylics, which made them “appear” to sparkle in real time.

Meanwhile, Sandy Liang’s nail look drew inspiration from the sea, which translated to a pearlescent base and rhinestone appliqués adorning nails and trailing down models’ fingers, as if mimicking a (pretty) barnacle. Helmut Lang and Kate Spade New York, on the other hand, went for a more graphic approach and applied letters and pop-art patterns to their manicures.
